I definitely believe that is the case. They throw this stuff in bins. Definitely possible that the stuff at the bottom is just sitting.
I got a signed Bad Religion album in the mail yesterday that shipped only 4 days ago from the other side of the country while I'm still waiting on other packages for weeks. Sure the the album was absolutely soaking and destroyed, but it got here quick....

It is the case, sort of. They are slammed and there are not enough trucks available to keep up with demand. I’m taking care of my regular customers first and seasonal freight (including USPS) as I can.

UPS has also shifted some of their deliveries over to the USPS which has added to the problem. It's a perfect s-storm of too many packages, too few employees due to hiring restrictions (thanks Trump), too few processing machines (thanks Trump), employees out sick due to Covid (thanks Trump), and too many people ordering online.

I understand things being delayed, but I am getting stuff very quickly that I just ordered. Doesnt make sense. First in, first out, right?

I've got a record that was shipped out on 12/10 that hasn't moved from Philly since 12/13. Every day I get two notifications, "out for delivery" followed by "arriving late." I've never been so confused.

Article in the paper yesterday -Detroit USPS. Trucks literally waiting 2 days idling outside to drop off. Afraid to leave their trucks to use the bathroom so they don't lose their spot. They are peeing in bottles, in the woods, etc. Fistfights have happened. Continued...

Once inside, they wait another 52 hours to unload=driver hasn't slept in 4 days. Ordering food to their truck in line to eat. Perfect storm of bad funding/election politics/and pandemic.

@highqualityrecords It’s not first in first out. Let’s say there are 10 available loads. If I’m the first carrier in line. I’ll take the load I want. As the good loads are gone, USPS gets stuck with the cheap freight that goes to undesirable locations. And that stuff will sit and sit until it finally gets moved by USPS, not a contracted carrier.

@HiFi Guy got it. That makes more sense. I didn’t know USPS uses contracted carries.

I did get mine from you yesterday! One of the only things I had in transit that actually moved.
