Also im pretty sure I'd rather listen to a poptimist mid 30s dude than an indie rock mid 30s dude. At least surprise me a little.
gouis

Disagree. One is just being honest. The other is trying to 'surprise' you by having what they think is iconoclastic taste
Woob_woob
Woob_woob
Thats hilarious that you get to judge whose music tastes are the most "honest" Typical boring 30s dude indie rock talk right there.

Live and let live, man. This thread is a bummer.

Takes are fun. It was also about the posturing, not people liking stuff.

Watch for my next trick when I go after the cast iron cooking bros

If you come for my Le Creuset you best be ready for a hipster slap fight.

If you paid for a le creuset non enameled cast iron pan instead of a $20 lodge you just played yourself
Mather

Do you honestly think I would let my hipster cred be damaged by using anything other than yard sale purchased 50 year old wooden handled enameled bright orange Le Creuset pans? How else would I be able to espouse to everyone within ear shot how exactly I got them and how little it cost.

I’ve found people that take the time to explain how they are unique and interesting (for whatever the reason) tend to be neither.

I enjoy when people are enthusiastic and want to share their passions I just don’t wanna be told why it makes them special.

My post was also about posturing and not liking stuff, and you're hitting all the indie rock posturing staples out of the park btw.

@gouis I have two cast iron pieces I use regularly that are from the late 1800s/early 1900s. HOW BOUT THEM APPLES

Lodge is great though.

All this talk of posturing over hipster/anti-hipster positions and stereotypes has me exhausted. I'm gonna go crack open a locally brewed craft beer

Lodge kinda sucks, actually. Proper cast iron is smooth as glass on the cooking surface. All the Lodge I've seen is not that. I am also running family hand down turn of the century cast iron. I do have a massive 16" Lodge that I use when I have too.
