So let's talk about how I did this nearly nightly when living in NOLA. I mean, I HAD to play Tina Turner to lull me to sleep (that sounds better than passing out).

this is why I have a turntable that auto-stops! Ive gotten rid of any records that have a locked groove at the end that doesn't let it auto stop.

I've done this twice and both times my stylus seemed ok. It is about a year old. How do I know if it is damaged?

That's why I'm digital-only after midnight.

@McGlam it’s very unlikely you’ve damaged it unless it’s a shitty record that runs into the label, if it’s spinning in the end groove you’re likely fine but have wasted 12 of the stylus’ 1000 hour life span.
