@mdmost I assumed that already happened by now. I'd rather one dedicated hot dog vs sandwich thread, but Tabakin should pop up any/everywhere, Where's Waldo? style. Then, one consolidated VMP thread, and maybe, one VMP anthology thread. It's ironic these are being presented as pro-VMP refuge threads, but they really just devolve into complaint threads, anyway.
@Delta Don the argument being made for keeping a million separate hyper-specific VMP threads overtaking the VInyl Clubs section is that there are just too many VMP releases to be able to coexist in one consolidated thread. It would be "overwhelming" & a "clusterfuck." The reality is that guess threads always were tangential "clusterfucks" anyway.
Dead C you and your high horse (kacey shout out ) need to chillax a bit. I say there are NOT enough VMP threads. I good 5 more if you ask me. I’m willing to start a unionized type movement. You can stop a mob. You have 24 hours (always give an ultimatum vis a vis Michael Scott)
@Delta Don it's almost as if you don't expect me to be the type of guy to be involved with a backwoods militia. As if I'm not typing from a bunker in a full-on ghillie suit, right now.
Not only do I have a current location and real time monitor on you rn, I’ve know about your locations for weeks. My intel is Clutch, but that’s just his nickname
@Sanders No. You won't. That's the point. This month's ROTMs were just announced a few days ago. So, you're waiting for a full month to have 2 days worth of conversation? That's exactly why they can be consolidated.
@Dead C Idk. I think it's kinda hard to talk about a record that we don't have in hand yet. 5 threads is not a lot. Why not make it easy for the people who do utilize those threads to use them? People who don't want to be involved in VMP anymore can simply steer clear of them.
@Sanders you're not making any sense. The argument is that the threads will be overwhelmed by content if they are consolidated. That's clearly not true. So why do we need no less than 5 separate threads devoted to the same topic, which actually overwhelms the vinyl clubs section for everyone else? Nobody has presented a valid reason for that.
@Dead C Look, I don't think 5 threads overwhelms the Vinyl Clubs section. Also consider the fact that there are more members of VMP here then there are members of any other club. And when people are trying to discuss the ROTMs they just received while other people are talking about exclusives recently announced, it could get messy.
@Sanders if that was the case, you'd still be discussing last month's ROTMs. There's more of a case for these overwhelming the clubs section than against consolidation If you have a thread dormant for days, or people waiting for something to discuss, that's evidence it's not overwhelmed w/content. The pre-order thread has multiple releases & discussions all happening at once constantly.
@Dead C To be fair, last month's ROTMs were very much overshadowed by the death of the old forum. As for the old forum, the same argument you're making could have been made over there, but no one made it. Sometimes, you have to wait for there to be something to discuss. The pre-order thread is dead on days where there's no pre-orders. Does that mean it should be lumped in with a similar thread?
@Sanders there are no days where there aren't pre-orders or updates regarding them. Plus, there are so many records in there, there's always discussion. Not one record a month. To use your logic, it's never a struggle to focus on what you want and ignore what you don't. And the difference with the old forum is that these were guess threads for each track. What's the point, now?
