I still don't know how to feel about the new Car Seat Headrest LP. I feel I have to reset my expectations when I listen to it...and maybe I'd enjoy it more. Or it's just not very good. Part of me thinks it sounds like a contract fulfillment, another part of me thinks maybe it's just Will Toledo getting annoyed with being labeled as an indie ROCK star. Either way, I don't know what to do with it.

That Other Music documentary is well worth a watch. Got me to pick up Just Another Diamond Day by Vashti Bunyan just based on a few mentions of it.
Wasn't sure what to expect from the new Fiona Apple based on internet hype, but damn...it's fantastic. It certainly sounds like an artist at the absolute height of her powers, taking so much full control. Like Kate Bush when she went all-in on The Dreaming. I have been a fan of Fiona's for a while now, and this is exactly what I wanted from a new album (without realizing it).

went to a digital passover tonight. well, celebrated in person with a tiny few, while the rest all dropped in via internet. it was a nice time, which I needed.
It only took me nearly 7 years, but I finally bought Random Access Memories on vinyl. And this feels like a new experience.
Got the new Waxahatchee in the mail today, and it's such a perfect spring-summer record. Even though the world is tough right now, this album provides some nice calming comfort.
The fire alarm for my entire building went off. I thought, oh not now please this is the worst timing! But it was a false alarm I guess.
Finally bought that Japanese City Pop comp Pacific Breeze on vinyl to give a little light to my days, and boy it is working. Highly recommended as a pick-me-up.
Gotta be honest, the coronavirus scare was starting to hit me, but when the NBA made that announcement, it got realer.
Really don’t like the new Car Seat Headrest song. And I’m a fan of the previous stuff. Also reading the press release about the new LP has me not all that interested...which is not what I was expecting when I heard the news initially.
Got the new Caroline Rose record in the mail a week early! Love it when this happens.
New Land Of Talk! I highly suggest picking up that Saddle Creek exclusive color cause it’s only 250 copies and will sell out.
I still don’t get the release strategy of the new Moses Sumney. But...this first half of the album is doing it for me. I will try to stay away from it too much though cause I’d rather listen to the entire thing in one go, not two separate parts.
Haven’t heard the single but anything Sufjan is an automatic for me. Will this be closer to his “solo” stuff? I really really hope so
Someone let me know when the new Against All Logic record has a pre-order up. I was able to get the last one before it completely sold out, and don’t wanna miss out on the new one.
As expected, this Frances Quinlan album is really, really great. It still sounds like Hop Along, though not quite as busy instrumentally - yet there's still plenty going on. -
