Arrakis? More like Ar-ROCK-is! The April 2024 Record-Spinning Challenge Thread

23 - Maker hooks: You need these to ride the sandworms. Play something with seriously catchy hooks.

One of my favorite bands to turn folks on to.

Every one of their songs, EVERY ONE OF THEIR SONGS, has a hook or a lyric or a riff that burrows into your brain and sets up a magical shop. Tim Rogers is the musical genius no one knows. Such an underrated band.

For lack of a better description, I always considered these guys a collision of the best parts of Paul Westerberg, Big Star and The Who.

@Thackeraye - back me up here, my brother...

Preach ‘unc! Will back you up on this. You Am I are great.

24 - Liet-Kynes: This planetologist has one foot in the Imperium and one in the culture of the Fremen. Play something that blends 2 (or more) genres.

The 5.6.7.8's - The 5.6.7.8's

Just watched Kill Bill last night, so this group came to mind. Japanese rock band that mixes surf, rockabilly, punk and rock and roll.
