Bandbox: an uncompensated review of an interesting new club

As someone who signed up under the subscription model then got refunded credits, I honestly have no idea how screwed I actually am getting outside of a preorder and leftover credits.

I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO MATH.
Well I had about $250 in left over credit and 9 open preorders. I may try to go back through my email and see how much I actually paid them at some point.

Can Bandbox kill their subreddit too? If so, I hope the people actively discussing on there are establishing another place to keep up on developments about this shit show...
Because that sort of thing has never happened before ever, right?

looks like our very own @DevonJD is the sole mod of the bandbox subreddit, so unless bandbox slings them some bandbux, i think we're okay there.

Out of curiosity, I looked and had $22.33 left in Gift Certificates and hadn't made a real money out of my pocket purchase with them since August 20, 2022.

So while I have some open preorders, I can’t complain - as I can't believe they stayed in business since I can't be the only person to have had the same run.

I wonder how much the delays had to do with they needed money to come in to get the product from the plant and be able to ship. Clearly there were some delays because of zines because Mould, but were some of the other things given that excuse because it seemed to work for them?

I bet someone could go back and look at sales and shipping notices and I bet there is a correlation.

I'd bet it was the case for a lot of albums. The record industry as a whole has recovered from being insanely backed up for the most part, but Bandbox was delayed with pretty much everything.

Seemed they were constantly robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I talked to someone at the pressing plant for the Long Winters albums. They shipped them to bandbox’s warehouse in Jan. The plant pressed the barsuk black and the bandbox color variants. But I think they are still on the big list of creditors and a bit unsure if they will ever get sent out since they were just sitting in bandbox's warehouse. It seemed they couldn't even pay the shipping to get those out to those who ordered them. Or they used that gift card money to try to get other records shipped to them.
