Fresh Grabs

I found a couple of gems at my local this past weekend went I went in to pick up my J Mascis pre-order.

I found an original (I don’t think it’s even been repressed) 1997 pressing of an IDM classic Mouse On Mars - Autoditacker

I also found a pristine white label promo of U-Roy - Dread In A Babylon.

I wasn’t familiar with this album but knew I had to buy it the second I saw that cover. Turns out it’s a pretty great album too. It also came with the original promo sheet which is cool too.

Got outta the house for a bit, delivered a few flowers, ran a couple errands and hit the local. Been dealing with after effects of cold/covid (gal has it so assuming i had it and gave it to her) so nice to meander around town today. Kid has been begging me for these shoes and felt like spoiling her a bit.

Japandroids - No Singles
Mark Lanegan Band - Bubblegum
City and Colour - If I Should Go Before You
J Mascis - What Do We Do Now
Adidas Gazelles

I am spinning the Mascis now and it’s sounds fantastic, really well done.

Also, that’s some killer Spring footwear right there. Love the tongue on those.

Dorothy Ashby - S/T (Argo, 1962 First Stereo Pressing)
Shake Keane And The Boss Men - Bossa Negra (Columbia, 1963 First 7" Pressing)

A couple of great records this week. Dorothy Ashby has been getting tons of attention lately (thanks to the box set) but fortunately I was able to get this for a decent price. The real find is the Shake Keane 7", an incredibly rare EP that sells for crazy money normally. I put a cheeky offer in for this way under the lowest sold price, expecting a back-and-forth barter but to my surprise the seller accepted! Couldnt be happier with it!
