The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

Neil has given us one of the most incredible careers in the history of music. Few, if any, can match the output and the sustained quality of work.

With that said, this is a Top 5 Neil Young record. And we're talking about a guy who's released 100 records or so.

I was lucky enough to see the Ragged Glory tour in 1991. As intense as these tracks are on vinyl, Neil kicked them into the stratosphere on this tour. Exhibit A. If you're impatient, jump in at 5:00...

50/5

Maybe for the hot takes thread but Pearl Jam are just so bad it makes me annoyed every time they come on. His voice is like water torture.
Aesthetically Vedder’s voice might not be your cup of tea just how like some people don’t dig Bob Dylan, or Lou Reed or Neil Young’s voice but from a technical aspect he is a skilled rock crooner. Along the same lines as Jim Morrison or Scott Weiland.

Yeah sorry and I’m a bit grumpy today but it’s just like nails down a chalkboard but then that whole scene, bar the two big ones I won’t name because people say they weren’t a part of it, is very much not my thing.

In fact, if people are arguing that Smashing Pumpkins aren’t grunge, I’d say it proves it’s merely a marketing term based on a scene, because the aesthetics of fashion and the distorted guitars owing to punk and classic rock are there too.
