Hey @Yer Ol' Uncle D how much of Neil’s Horse output is just crazy ass first take recordings? Is what they did here why he took the same approach with Promise of the Real?

Don't know an exact number but with Crazy Horse, I'd expect it to be high. At their heart and soul, no matter the era, they're just a bunch of kids cranking it out in their parents' garage.

This comes off as a more accessible version of The Lemon of Pink. It would be interesting to hear what someone who dislikes The Books like @HiFi Guy thinks of it. But I’m sure the comparison would turn him off.

Just the patched together sound, especially as the album goes on and their are snippets of conversations going on.
