Vinyl Me Pauly (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I, uh, don't think I have ever felt the need to listen to an entire box set as a single unit.
I only do because I'm lazy. If I'm taking it out of the box, I'm listening at least to a few of them. But I also don't mind as I often listen to specific artists in batches but I guess in terms of vmp anthology box sets they be different artists. I don't own any of them though so my point is moot

Back in the day before box sets were discography collections or glorified deluxe album packages…. Boxsets were like greatest hits or alternate reality versions of a catalog. Things like the first Zepplin box or the purple Jimi box or Johnny Cash The Legend were listening for long days doing nothing.
I suppose I'm thinking of compilation/discography box sets. I do have some single album soundtrack box sets that I listen to as a unit.

I broke out my box sets to the individual records to store, but it doesn't increase my odds of playing them because I've been using FreshCogs to select my albums and box sets are still only 1 listing.

SpunIt lets you specify which album/tracks. I still use Freshcogs though. I have a system for boxset tracking which works enough for my EOY tracking

What is fresh cogs?

There's also an Android version.

It’s an app that uses your cogs data and tracks your listens when you say you’ve listened to something. It can be linked to you last.fm creating the easiest why I’ve found to scrobble records.

Hmm how is it if I don't use last fm or keep track of listens?

What are you looking to use it for? There are some nice, but limited stats gathering on your FreshCogs profile. Things like spins by day, most spun artist, most spun record. I like the random record generator that picks 9 to choose from. My 3 year old requests to "pick from the 9" a lot.
