Record Store Day 2025

Interesting coming from a label named Jazz Dispensary...
i have six of the comps and the only which is not Jazz/Fusion that leans funky is the Moon Rocks one which is Disco, Boogie and Funk. They did not brand that one as JD. They lean hard on 70s output from Milestone and Prestige. Stuff like Rusty Bryant, Charles Kynard, Bernard Purdie, Idris Muhammad. There some soul jazz and out there stuff too (Joe Henderson has some of both) on the label as well. It’s not Bop but it also isn’t P-Funk.

There’s something calming about a dead mall
During COVID, my high school hangout mall shut down and went up for auction. Whatever was left behind by every store/restaurant was fair game. Santa's Village went for $2000.

It was so sad/cool/surreal. During preview you could just walk around any part of the mall. I got pics of us in the puppy window of the pet store and arranged the Santa setup for our Christmas cards that year. The papers were still guessing what was happening to the building, but I figured it out when I saw the escalators and front doors of the mall were lots in the catalog.

So, the post-easter mail all arrived on the same day. I got a fabulous T-shirt from @imtheocean (see his vinyl challenge thread) and a couple record boxes. Three in fact  . Thank goodness I'm the only one home, this would require some explaining, considering boxes arrived last week too. Anyway, among all of these records were the last two RSD purchases I made. The MJ Lenderman arrived last week.

Restocks are happening

Thank you! $37 shipped is still $12 cheaper than Newbury would have asked for it!

I missed that JAMC early years (dammit) so if you see it pop up elsewhere, holler.

It’s still around overseas, but between exchange rate and shipping it gets real pricey real fast for a single LP.
yeah, I want it but wasn't sure if I needed it. If it comes up on this side again I'll probably grab it.

Saw this in the Discogs notes:

This isn't the single version of Never Understand - it's the rejected/alternate version which was on Power Of Negative Thinking
