Fresh Grabs

New Ill Considered. Stuck to my local shop this time as I still don’t have great pressings of the last few that I got through bandcamp and it was becoming difficult to keep emailing back and forth about replacements.

Im waiting on mine, I did see it should have been posted by now so hopefully its on its way. Did you go for a coloured press or the black?

Well SotU initially listed as coloured but emailed yesterday to say they had received black and ask if I still wanted it. I'm always happy with black so it made no difference to me but I wonder how many people they had cancel because of that.

Will have to grab this at my local store. How does it sounds?

I just got that Solange record too! I actually liked it better spinning it than I did upon my streaming listens!
Same. I’ve only ever listened to it in full once (before today, at least), but I’ve had “Down With the Clique” on repeat all year so I just decided to get the record on impulse. I’m glad I did, it sounds great!

Just got Nujabes “Metaphorical Music” delivered.

Which brings me to another point....I wonder if records get warped during the delivery process sometimes. I opened the box and the record was literally hot to the touch.
I always let my record boxes cool off before opening them. You probably do more damage opening a hot package than the delivery, just because the record usually stays stiff throughout the delivery process.

In America last year. I’ve been hunting a while for one. I ended up getting it off eBay new from all your music (or one of their many sister companies) for about €33 delivered.

Done well .. £50 on Amazon and eBay at mo .. I shall do a bit more digging,,,

How’s it sound?

Dunno, been boozing tonight so I’ve not got it washed and spun yet! I’ll let you know obey the the weekend! It does have a very good reputation!

Yeah that’s pretty much where it’s besn for the last year plus abs I wasn’t willing to go that high. I just kept checking back every month or so worth the resolution to wait for the 30th anniversary in 2022 if it hadn’t come down!

Sturgill Simpson - High Top Mointain
Midland - Let It Roll

Had an Amazon delivery today. First up is Sturgill’s debut. A wonderful album that I hadn’t pulled the trigger until this week when the price was so low I couldn’t refuse. Plus all the hype for his new album which I am currently on the fence about. I love Traditional Country Music and Sturgill was responsible for some of my revived interest in the genre however as he has gotten more adventurous in his craft I haven’t enjoyed it as much. I appreciate his willingness to explore and his unwillingness to be pinned down but personally I find him doing straight up Country to be pure gold.

The other is Midland’s newest album (released today) “Let It Roll”, the record came in a surprisingly nice coke bottle teal color. They are throwbacks to the Country stars of the late ‘80’s & early ‘90’s a’la Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Brooks & Dunn. Their last album “On The Rocks” was a lot of fun and this seems like it will be more of the same.

This afternoon just got a bit more exhilarating...

Just received the recent Thrill Jockey repress of Lightning Bolt’s Wonderful rainbow🌈 it looks great. I will be spinning it while folding laundry later. Probably will be the fasted I’ve ever moved doing menial housework...

Nice Mallard.

Thanks for the advice. DHL deliverd The Record but on top of that USPS has started sticking my records in my tin mailbox and those are usually pretty warm too. I’ll definitely be more careful from here on out

When we bought our house I made sure the porch had an overhang and was facing north/south, being in Phoenix and all.

So imagine my glee when I find out that we have a mailbox cluster, on the side of the street, facing west. Those things are like ovens, but thankfully my mail usually comes in the 2-4 pm range, so it’s not baking all day (except in the postal car). Anyways, they arrive hot, but I haven’t had any tragedies yet.
