We did read it for all of them, but it was mostly to scan out the crazies and lawsuits. Michael Jackson had a lot of Billie Jeans that would mail, and also folks that would try to claim credit for music or lyrics. The only thing that made it through was to Pee Wee Herman - if anyone sent in Rubber Bands or Foil they would go to him for the Rubber Band and Foil ball on his show. Otherwise it was a form letter back saying that they didn't have time to read all their mail, but they could send $$$ and join the fan club.

Thinking about it now though, I'm having serious olfactory flashbacks to the heavily perfumed letters that some people would send in. We got letters from Jesus (postmarked from Wyoming, so he must have been on vacation), and Satan's Mistress lived in Japan.
