I was a huge fan of Ash when this came out. I think the liner notes on their debut ep ”Trailer” (released the year before this and even better) states that it was ”written and performed by real teenagers” or something like that.Never heard of it.
I discovered Ash from the Angus soundtrack, the movie was alright but the soundtrack was stellar; it featured really great unreleased tracks from Green Day, Weezer, (the reason I purchased the soundtrack) and introduced me to The Muffs, Smoking Popes, along with Ash, who were the only band that got two tracks. “Kung Fu” is on 1977 which, along with “Girl From Mars”; are probably their best known tracks. I would also recommend also checking out the track “Jack Names The Planets” which is from their debut album.

I assume this means Candlebox-esque."Smooth grunge", I have to remember that one
Yeah they are like Brit pop and pop punk had a babyI assume this means Candlebox-esque.
I thought Ash had more in common with Green Day and Weezer soundwise than anything grungy.
My thought on "Smooth Grunge" was that they would fit in with an MTV Spring Break headliner, but pop punk works too!I assume this means Candlebox-esque.

Ah, it let me post that video which is always fun. I think performing MTV Spring Break might be Thom’s version of hell.I knew I was digging myself a deeper hole when I posted that!

I’m sure Sugar Ray and Limp Bizkit loved that crowd.I can’t imagine it’s anyone’s idea of fun. That’s gotta be a shit crowd to play to.
