Beguiling. She ventures with a different instrumental arsenal here. Trombone and bass clarinet are not instruments commonplace in the genre, but the breathiness from reed and brass instruments are palpable here.

It's SO good! I finally got around to checking it out yesterday morning.

New Peter Broderick piano album is really promising. Since the Pound is so shit right now this one was $35 shipped.

I LOVE everything that Peter does on Piano. I really don't like anything else he does that isn't piano.

Speaking of lo-fi... now you can cut your own low-fidelity 5" records!

PO-80 record factory is a compact and portable record cutter, made in collaboration with yuri suzuki. engrave and playback 5" discs with ultra-analog lo-fi sound - simply plug in any audio device to the 3.5 mm audio input and cut your own record in an instant. yep, it's really that simple.

Oooh, this a question I was going to ask those in this thread eventually.

Here are my top10 for this year so far, all of which I've had time to give multiple runthroughs. Thinking that the top half or so will make the cut for my top50 overall for 2022.

  1. Hinako Omori - ...a journey
  2. Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer - Recordings from the ƅland Islands
  3. Patricia Wolf - I'll Look For You in Others
  4. Kali Malone - Living Torch
  5. Rachika Nayar - Heaven Come Crashing
  6. Felicia Atkinson - Image Langage
  7. Raum - Daughter
  8. Madeline Cocolas - Spectral
  9. Patricia Wolf - See-Through
  10. Loris S. Sarid - Seabed-Sunbath

So there is 8 copies left of the william Basinski & Laura English album Selva Oscura. I fell in love with it a while back when I was listening to it watching a string of car lights making a graceful line across the sky in the dark hours of a morning commute. However, Iā€™m a little torn if this album will translate to vinyl. Did Anybody get it?

Thanks for sharing, will need to check out Hinako Omori over the weekend!

Have u seen this? Get your fingers clickity clackinā€˜ to grab another ambient classic from the prolific Pete Namlook.

SILENCE has long been in demand by collectors and unavailable on vinyl since its original release in 1992. Limited to only 500 pieces for the world, this beauty wonā€™t last for long. The labelā€™s first Namlook reissue - Air I - sold out in no time fast last year and is now fetching insane Discogs prices. This is a Bandcamp exclusive it seems..

Acetone fans...

Since 2012 or so, the quartet of Steve Hadley (Acetone), Jason Yates, Senon Williams(Dengue Fever) and Mark Lightcap (Acetone)have been getting together to hang out and play music, first in Senonā€™s garage, then in Steveā€™s living room. This group of recordings are drawn from hundreds of hours of material recorded over the last ten years, improvised in private with no intention of repetition, rehearsing, playing gigs, or producing ā€œproductā€ - feeling around in the dark for some new patch of musical ground to inhabit for a fleeting moment: a spirited conversation between friends. It has been described by some as ā€œgarage progā€, by others as an ecstatic process, employing the tools of Rock as a manual form of asteroid bombardment, freeing the space metal from the planetary core.

Rare song by the super unknown band: Dick Slessig Combo - Carl Bronson (Matmos), Mark Lightcap (Acetone) and Steve Goodfriend (Radar Brothers) perform as the Dick Slessig Combo. The group creates dreamy instrumental arrangements of songs from the late '60's through the early '70's. They produce a high desert evening quiet drift of the Jimmy Webb classic "Wichita Lineman" that clocks in at a calming 43 minutes.

Yup, yup, yup. I came in here to praise this album once again. It's half compilation, half new stuff. He's re-recorded a bunch of songs that were on some other releases but if you're not familiar with him it'll all be new.

It's really, really good. RIYL: Goldmund, Nils Frahm, Dustin O'Halloran, Eluvium (piano).

If you don't have time to listen to nearly an hour and a half of solo piano at least check out, "Eyes Closed and Traveling", "Sonata for the Sirius", "A Snowflake", "Carried" and "Three Floats"

The Peter Broderick album reminds me SO MUCH of the last Elvuium Piano album, especially the first "disc" of that one with all new songs.

This release was slept on a lot by everyone, myself included. Listening back today and these songs aged phenomenally. "Underwater Dream", "Quiet Children" are two of the best songs Eluvium has ever written. They're so simple but so good.

Any ambient albums on the docket for 2023 that you're excited for? I always listen to much more ambient music in winter so I'm always looking for something new.

Ambient Church announced their season. Suso Siaz is having a show in LA. Did not really know this guy before this. Checked out his recent album, been listening to it all weekend. Man what is it about vague undefined drones that really get to me? šŸ˜‚
Iā€™m gonna go to the show and Iā€™m probably gonna get the record.
