The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

Yeah, this was the most surprising result of the playoffs so far by score. Not complaining.
Outside of the one TD drive from the very end of Q1 to the middle Q2, the defense played absolutely outstanding. Lou Anarumo has been 🔥with his defensive packages. Joe Burrow played phenomenal, especially in the first half, distributing the ball to a litany of pass-catchers.

5-1 playoff record in the last two seasons. It's still so surreal that this can even happen to a team that I chose to follow since I started watching the league ~10 years ago.

To be clear, nothing but love for @Mtcvinyl and any of the other Bills fans on here. You all are still brothers to me.
Burrow vs Mahomes IV. Let’s see if Andy and our staff can come up with the game plan of their careers. Anarumo’s had their number. And Mahomes is gonna be hobbled. Same on the other side of the ball with Spags vs Taylor. Chiefs haven’t been able to make enough plays to stop that O.

Good luck 🤝 to all the Cinci fans on this board.

Urlacher was better but Warner is very good.
Urlacher was a better pure football player but he played in the same era as Ray Lewis, London Fletcher, Derrick Brooks, etc and leading into the likes of prime Bobby Wagner and Luke kuechly.

The way the league has moved has reduced the value of these type of players. Imo, Warner is in a tier of his own as a modern off ball linebacker compared to his peers. Warner is currently one of one in allowing his team to take away the middle of the field with an lb alone, which is what makes him so special to me.

I get what your saying. In that regard you are probably right in that there were other linebackers that shared that skill set back 15-20 years ago during the Tampa 2’s hey day. I might be a bit bias but Urlacher was essentially a Strong Safety playing Middle Linebacker and while Ray Lewis and Brooks where better overall Mikes, Urlacher’s abily to clear out and get back in coverage was the best I’ve ever seen. He was amazing.
Urlacher was great but could he cover downfield like that? I'm a Niners fan and I didn't even think Fred had that in him.
Yeah, he really could, it was one of those things that didn’t overtly show up on stat sheets (beyond his tackle numbers) but if you watched the Bears during his prime it was something he was so good at that Bears fans routinely took for granted.

i can't find one zoomed in like this that shows both zeke getting run over AND the receiver getting blasted, so this will have to do.
