The Crate Digging & Bargain Bin Finds Thread

I shared this on the Fresh Grabs thread but I think it would also fit here nicely:

Eric Dolphy – Out To Lunch! (Blue Note, 1964 First Mono Pressing)

Well here's my deal of the year! Last week I was browsing Ebay when I came across this album for.......£14.95. It certainly looked like a first pressing so I quickly put the order in and expected it to get cancelled. A few days ago it arrived in the post, opened it up and it is indeed a first mono pressing in stunning shape. Couldn't (and still can't) quite believe it. Goes to show there are still incredible deals out there to be had!!!

Damn. Not too shabby ;). Those jackets all look to be in great shape. What's the vinyl look like?
By and large pretty good, especially for a $1 sale. Definitely surface wear on most of them, all need cleaning, but haven't found any warping or garish scratches. Will start playing them this week and report back.

Had a stop right around the corner from my local while doing my new run at work yesterday, so I took a 15 and spent about the same...

Nothing spectacular (in fact, it's my least favourite BÖC album!) but nice to flip the bargain bin during work again.

(I used to work in a kitchen across the street a few years back and would pop over often before, during and after work - I knew damn near the full store inventory quite well back then!)

My local Charity Shops are a bit of a joke when it comes to pricing records. £10-£15 for a Jim Reeves record, etc.

I popped into one today to look at the books and decided to look through the records (which I never do now because of the insane pricing) and saw these 2 at the from for £1 each. The others were all priced way way way above anything they usually sell for so it must have been a one off.

I imagine Pink Floyd - Relics is well known here, the other is IF - IF4 (a British jazz-rock group featuring Dick Morrissey).

Sample of today's haul from Revilla Records $1 sale in Milltown, NJ. Had never been there before today and it is an EXCELLENT shop.

Just seeing this now but I was definitely there at the same time lol I am probably right behind you. Got 105 records, best find was a numbered DCC Classics Elvis 24kt Gold Hits that had a very small mark on one track. Revilla is the best!

I am glad to see more ladies of all ages digging and buying at record shows I attend, and at the local record shops. The parity and diversity is encouraging and quite welcome.

Hit the local bin diving today.
Found some 2 eye Johnny Cash.

Kind of odd a Mono and ST of Everybody Loves A Nut were in the same bin.
Hello, I'm Johnny Cash is a cool album to find.

Then, grabbed a few newer AAA releases.
Don't think I have any MOV releases. Mingus Ah Um is a good way to start. Hype sticker talks up a Presto tube tape recorder.

And Further Explorations should be a great TP addition.
Good way to start the weekend 🍺

Edit: looks like Mingus is a digital source so they could edit the music length originally cut to fit on the LP. Not sure what message they were attempting on the hype sticker.
