Everything Video Games!

Not a console guy so waited for FFVII to hit PC. Enjoying it so far. Like the modernized controls mixed with the old mechanics. Guess they've been like that for FF games. Haven't played the original in forever - this seems much more details sprinkled in so that's cool. I'm hearing this is 1/4th the original game's story though??
I need to get back to it, Elden Ring's been taking all my attention lately. The little details are the part I'm loving most, seeing Midgar in the updated graphics is a real treat, and I like that we get to know the characters a bit more.

Should I upgrade my PlayStation Plus to Premium and see if I like it?

There are only about 10 games I saw so far that I want to play. And most everything is not PS5 generation. Do we expect them to start adding to their offerings, or will this be once I play the games I want nuke the subscription kind of thing?

Speaking of Elden Ring, I fought my first boss that gave me a real challenge (more than 10 attempts). So far, high vigor and strength have allowed me to just attrition my way through everything, but last night I went through The Shaded Castle and fought Elemer of the Briar. That whole place sucks, poison swamp, stun lock heavy enemies, one of those centepede grafted a-holes, and FFS did Miyazaki HAVE to bring back the bug eyed frog/lizard things? Had some PTSD from DS1 when I saw them. Elemer gave me a run for my money, and was having none of my normal tactics. Had trouble staying close, had trouble staying far away, and he could kill me in 2-4 attacks. Jellyfish ended up being a huge help here, giving me just enough breathing room to succeed.

I got really overwhelmed with Liurnia, too much to do and see, and those jerks with the explosive stuff can go right to hell. I've decided to finally go fight Radhan before I return to the city.

I didn't go to that castle until I was way over-leveled and those lizard guys who unleash death on you still were getting me several times before getting into the boss area. I think I beat that boss in one go because I just spammed him with Lightning Spear a bunch which he's weak to

I think I was overleveled as well. I'm actually having a hard time remembering the boss as I took longer getting there because I kept messing up and dying in that area with all the basilisks and perfumers.

I'm waiting to see more before I subscribe. I've played most of the PS3 and PS4 games I'm interested in, I'd really like a good way to play PS1 and PS2 classics. So far it doesn't seem like they have much selection for that.

Same here on the PS Plus subscription. I'm sticking with the essential tier for now until I see how it all plays out after a few months or so. Right now I don't see much reason to upgrade, so we'll see if that changes after it gets rolling.

I'm very interested in GT7, but at the same time I'm not sure what I think of modern racing games.

I tend to suck at staying on course and not crashing. Haven't figured out the balance of gas and breaking. I'm either way off pace or crashing at every turn.

I have premium only because I took advantage of monthly PS Now right before the switchover. TBH if I wasn't able to exploit then I would have went to the middle tier (whatever that's called) as there are quite a few PS Studio games that are added that I am interested in. I haven't really tried any of the streaming but it still makes me nervous for some reason as I'm not a huge fan of streaming gaming but will see how it goes during my couple years with it
