Best unis but not a fan of their ownership. They belong in San Diego. If I ever had to abandon The Bears, the Buffalo Bills would be my backup.
 
While we're here. A reminder that the NFL:
  • recently suspended a player a full season for betting a drop in the bucket of his earnings on NFL games
  • suspended a former Browns player multiple years for smoking a plant and
  • blackballed all support of a former player for kneeling on the field during The National Anthem
If you sexually assault nearly two dozen women, you get over $10M for each victim. Fully guaranteed.

I really don't have an issue with the Ridley suspension. I make decisions on government contracts and therefore I don't invest in companies I could see myself having a potential conflict of interest. It's really not that hard to not bet on the market you're a professional in. I understand if people think the punishment is harsh or that it's hypocritical with how all professional sports are partnering with gambling right now but *shrug*

The way the media is handling the Watson situation is truly disheartening to me though. Teams that courted him will barely have to answer questions on why, if at all. At a bare minimum he's a sex pest with an established MO of predatory behavior. I hope the Cleveland media is up to the task.

Cleveland traded three firsts rounders for Watson and gave him a fully guaranteed contract. Everyone seems to be convinced that Watson is a surefire franchise QB for the next decade but dude was hurt a lot and didn’t really have Houston competing for Super Bowls. I thought he was overpaid prior to all the sexual assault allegations arose but now, after all that plus a full year away from the game he essentially gets rewarded.

I also read that his new contract is structured where he gets paid very little his first year so when he inevitably gets suspended games next season we won’t be penalized personally nearly as bad since his pay will be lower during the 2022 season.

I like the move for The Chiefs, when you’re paying your QB dump trucks worth of money, you cut corners where you can and as fast as Hill is it’s not like he’s going to get any faster. I bet the chiefs find a fairly comparable (and much cheaper) replacement in the draft.

They weren’t gonna be able to extend him so I like it too. Unfortunately no Reek makes the Chiefs worse this year but they have 8 picks in the top 135 of the draft this year and it’s a deep class. Smart move.

McDaniel’s gonna use him like Deebo, and that offense is gonna be scary fast w/ Waddle & Mostert there too. If Tua is any good, then they could be dangerous.

They tried that with Mecole Hardman already, but there’s no replacing Hill. Hardman is fast, but no one has the combination of acceleration, route running, ball tracking, top speed, endurance, and body type that Hill has. I’ve rarely seen him get tired, and he always looks effortless running, but he’s built like a brick. He also almost never gets hit.

I actually kind of hope this forces Andy to re-tool the offense a bit to be bigger and tougher. The OL was already rebuilt last year and now they’re a more physical run blocking line. They still have Mecole to stretch the field horizontally & vertically and maybe draft another speedster like @TenderLovingKiller® said. But Juju is a more physical receiver that they really haven’t had, and Kelce can either bully or outrun depending on who’s on him. Fortson looked good last year before his injury, and he’s another big physical guy. They need a more downhill runner though that’s good in short yardage.

My biggest worry is that they’ve lost 3 of their top 4 WRs from last year, and Andy’s offense is notoriously difficult for WRs to come in right away and master. Mecole should be fine, but then it’s up to Juju to pick it up quickly, and either Josh Gordon, Kemp or Cornell Powell to drastically improve over the off-season, and a rookie or another new free agent to pick up the offense quickly.
