When you say bootleg you mean the MOV press? If so I can easily imagine it sounding just as good / the same / better. I have the MOV de-loused and can't tell the difference between that and the new pressings.

there was never an official MOV press of Frances. it got cancelled at the last minute and pulled. some people think that the bootleg that came out was from those plates though.

Yeah it was just a rumor. Apparently it was pretty much finished when it got pulled, then this boot comes out and it's got high res art, big thick stock triple gatefold, heavyweight vinyl and it sounds quite good (I mean comparatively speaking, the album's isn't exactly a sonic masterpiece quality wise). It could have nothing to do with MOV but it sounds a lot better than I'd expect a CD rip to sound. And it LOOKS dang near identical to the OG package... minus the 6th side etching...

if any copies did leak out, it could potentially be a needledrop from that? i have some nice sounding needledrops if they are done properly.

I didn't see anything after my retort. And yeah no I didn't ask anyone to vote for anything I wrote but thanks to all that did it was hilarious. Thanks all of you for helping to make this mad silly little person just a little bit madder... I think our work here is done. Cheers y'all.

But for reals the boot does hold up really well, and the package is nicer and more accurate to the OG pressing. Still happy to have the VMP press tho...

Seeing some people saying their VMP Frances the Mute is stamped 0000/5000 on the jacket. This freaking company, there’s always something.

I got an email from them a few weeks ago asking how likely I would be to recommend a friend, told them straight up their QC is nonexistent and I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy never mind my friends.

Can confirm that I received one with this number. I emailed CS and told them this way too expensive to not be perfect, and I have a replacement on the way.
