getting the Lifesaver books on Christmas
I love this!
My mom always got these for my sister and I and put them in our stockings at Christmas. When she passed (over 20 years ago) my sister carried on the tradition and buys me one every year.
Not sure if you remember, but they used to include a variety of flavors - like wild cherry, butterscotch, and peppermint.

The butterscotch ones were my jam whenever I got one of these. That's a beautiful tradition you and your sister have. Thanks for sharing!

100% on Butterscotch. Those were always gone first! And what a great way for your sister to keep that tradition going. I get them for my kids every year still too.

Day Nine - Backgammon
The Mars Volta – De-Loused In The Comatorium

Dissonant frenetic guitar riffs; a heady mixture of prog rock, jazz fusion and psychedelic post-hardcore; enigmatic lyrics telling the tale of a man fallen into a coma after an overdose on morphine and rat poison; the inability of a popular record club to catch an incredible pressing error before putting these out into the world... there is not much about this album that is simple other than the heavy enjoyment I find from it!

Pineapple first, then butterscotch for me. You all remember the chocolate Velamints? Mmmm.

Day 10 - Candyland - Play something sweet

We have different levels of sweet in play here - songs about honey and candy, sugary-sweet melodies buried beneath a wall of sweet distortion and feedback.

If The Jesus And Mary Chain were a candy bar, they'd be the most decadent sweet imaginable but laced with razor blades. And while the razor blades would be incredibly painful, they would somehow make everything even sweeter...
