Swapped ROTM for Donald Byrd - Stepping Into Tomorrow. Already have the Eddie Gale and Charles Rouse BlueNote exclusives so figure why not. Anyone who has all three, how does the Byrd compare?

I don't have the other Blue Note exclusives, but "Stepping Into Tomorrow" sounds phenomenal...one of the 10 best sounding records in my modest collection. I got it as a swap last month (after emailing in). You're gonna love it!

Sort of off topic, but now that they did the Anthology box set with Blue Note did VMP give any word to whether there will be any more exclusives or not with them?

I hope so and I thought there were plans. This month was supposed to be one but that didn’t pan out, so who knows. It would be awesome if we got a couple in the Classics track. I know Wayne Shorter’s The All Seeing Eye was thrown around quite a bit and I would be all over that.

I always could use some more Wayne Shorter in my life...so hoping that gets a release at some point. I have plenty on my plate though now with all of the BN 80th and Tone Poet pressings coming out. Good time to be a jazz fan. Bad time for my wallet.

It's just a color variant and the pressing should be identical, so I wouldn't feel too bad about it!

I did this. They are getting a lot of complaints about it and are contacting the manufacturer. They offered me a refund, so I appreciated their diligence on this. Upset, but they made it right and I don't blame them for a widespread pressing issue.
