Also, my wife hates U2 so limits my chances to play.
I love U2 but I am not in the same league as you guys. Also sadly, I’ve yet to pick any up on vinyl. I’ve got it all on CD or (gasp) mp3.

I'm on Team Wife for this one. The one caveat being the Daniel Lanois produced albums are allowed, but only if someone else buys them!
I wouldn’t have cared that they put the album on my phone if it didn’t start auto-playing every. fucking. time. I plugged my phone into my car. And of course Apple iOS didn’t support auto-playing any non-Apple music app (Spotify) at the time. So I had to hear the beginning of California until I could remove it.Imagine sneaking your new album onto the iPhone free of charge and watching the entire world become enraged about it.
It's weird that, when I type that out, it actually sounds pretty amazing and like something I would, personally, relish in doing, but I understand that U2 and myself are very different people.
I was actually inside the ring at the Baltimore show. They opened with 4 straight from Actung Baby. It was awesome.I saw them on the 360 tour. That show taught me one thing - as much as I hate arena shows, stadium shows are geometrically worse.
Given that Coldplay (and Radiohead) pretty much wouldn't exist without U2, that's a fair assessment.U2 are just Coldplay for an older generation.
Radiohead would certainly exist without U2. They'd be just fine. But yeah, I think Eno's produced for both U2 and Coldplay as well.Given that Coldplay (and Radiohead) pretty much wouldn't exist without U2, that's a fair assessment.
The Bends is the greatest thing U2 ever created. After that they did something different, but Radio head owes a lot to U2.Radiohead would certainly exist without U2. They'd be just fine. But yeah, I think Eno's produced for both U2 and Coldplay as well.

Fair fair, I forget The Bends exists a lot of the time. Not a big fan of that one. Or U2. Hey, another connection! The Bends is the greatest thing U2 ever created. After that they did something different, but Radio head owes a lot to U2.
You might not be a fan of The Bends but the only comp The Bends has to any U2 album is that both feature guitars and sing with accents.Fair fair, I forget The Bends exists a lot of the time. Not a big fan of that one. Or U2. Hey, another connection!
It checks out. Trust me, I’m a math-magician!
