Record Store Day 2021

Newbury Comics had a pile of the Rage album. Check their website at 1PM and you'll probably get it.


First year I just went after they opened instead of lining up. Got Prince, Garbage and Love Spit love easily.

That sucks.

I would check with the store first and see if they can't work it out with their supplier - if they can't or won't I'd hit up the label.

Have you tried giving it a clean? New records can be as dirty as bargain bin ones.

I can do a A/B test later today (When its not so morning and I can turn on the shop vac without waking up the building) and report back since I also have the original release as well.
 
Ended up doing a bit more driving around in this heat (with no car ac 😬) than needed. Was s19th at my usual spot and figured I was DOA with only 2 and 3 copies of what I wanted. Ran to another local since first had numbers and was able to snag 2/3 things I wanted (missed Linkin Park by one person!). Went back to the original for my place in line and they ended up having everything I wanted when I went through so the last minute pivot was for nothing.

Happy I got all I wanted though (assuming these two Lupe records survived the drive in the heat 😂)

I went to my other main record store after this where I was not number 15 but instead number 147. After two more hours of waiting I walk out with:

✅Mulatu Timeless
✅Arthur Verocai Timeless
✅Slum Village
✅Kenny Dorham

My entire wantlist. Whelp I now know which store to go to first from now on.
