Live Show Withdrawal Support - Photos

My wife and I saw them there in Fall of 2017 (I believe). Her workplace had their holiday party in the upstairs room so we had access to the show via the balcony or could go down to the main floor. I’d never heard them before. I quite enjoyed it.
Yes it was in 2017 that we saw them. Same take away. We’ve never heard of them before but the line was out the door to see them and the place downstairs for the show was packed! It was definitely different but I still enjoyed their sound. Very unique. :)

Here’s one from 2017. Only time they’ve played here and I hope it’s not the last.
Hard Rock Hotel-Pool. What’s funny is now that Virgin owns the property, even though I checked in at the HRH, it will show Virgin Hotel. Fucking weird...

I don't take many photos during shows, since I usually find a spot somewhere near the back of the venue with a clear sightline and a cool breeze. Usually I end up next to the sound-mixing station, since that's where the best sound is most times. But, there are some bands my 40-yr-old ass just has to jump up front for.

Gaslight Anthem July 17th, 2015 @ Forecastle Festival ( I mention the dates here because I just happened to see them 2 days in a row, then they announced their breakup a week later. I blame myself)

I seemed to have taken a lot of pics at Forecastle 2015. Probably because I went by myself after a breakup. I booked the trip the day after and stopped at a few shows in a few cities on the way.

They originally did not have Louisville on their schedule, but it was added, so we went again. Here is another perspective of the same shot.

Awesome pics! How well did Sleigh Bells translate live?

Thanks! I love Sleigh Bells and they kick ass on stage. High energy and a lot of fun! That show was quite a long time ago now. I think their last album was in 2016? Hopefully they are doing well and will survive all of this!

Here are a few from recent years. Dave in...either 2018 or 2019. Not a huge Dave fan but one of my best friends and my sister are, and I have to admit, in July, at an outdoor show by the lake, it's a pretty perfect experience.

Murder By Death at the Stanley Hotel, Colorado, in January 2018. This was my third time travelling for a concert(s), second for this band, and I can't wait to do way more of that whenever it's safe again.

Broken Social Scene at Supercrawl street festival in Hamilton, Ontario. A staple of my autumns in recent years, really missed it this past.

Sons of Kemet at Longboat Hall. Same show as @Mather posted, just from the other side of the wraparound balcony. Unbelievable show.

Baroness. Co-headlined with Deafheaven, which we withstood for about ten minutes and then bailed. Possibly the loudest show I've ever attended, including Motorhead.

Nils Frahm. Go see him whenever you can!

Kevin Morby with Sam Cohen, Oh My God tour, June 2019. This was in the middle of the Raptors' championship run. For the encore Morby came out in a Kawhi shirsey and asked for score updates (it was game 3 of the finals and they won 123-109).

Really looking forward to this coming back, too. My neighbourhood has a little music festival called Open Tuning where people play on porches and driveways, in alleyway garages, and at parks throughout a full Saturday. People set up lawn chairs on closed roads, walk around, meet their neighbours, and enjoy some music.

Alvvays opening for the National. Can't really see 'em, but it was a fantastic full-day, five-band bill outdoors in the summertime.

Wilco on the Ode to Joy tour, October 2019. It was the last show at the outdoor amphitheatre that fall, and also Yom Kippur. According to Jeff, "the last time we let the goys make the tour schedule."

Madison Cunningham opening for Iron & Wine and Calexico on Superbowl Sunday 2020. Second time we saw her in a handful of months, as she opened for Andrew Bird the previous fall. An incredible guitarist.
