Definitive Audiophile pressings

I might see if I can get a rip of the CD since I doubt I’ll find the vinyl anywhere for any amount I’d want to actually pay for it!

I had it in my hands one RSD. Store had one. A friend said, "where did you see that??" And I said, "its the only one. Here. I'm already spending too much money." And handed it to him.

Wife and I were having a discussion about MOFI as a Weezer song came on. She didn't know I had the MOFI for some Weezer albums. That led to us discussing what's been on here about how MOFI mostly represses older albums before 1990 with a few exceptions. I told her how one of the most sought after MOFIs is Nevermind by Nirvana. That had me thinking, of all the albums I'd pay $125 to get a One Step of, it's probably Nevermind. Am I dumb or is there already a cheaper definitive version than the MOFI? Would a One Step ever even be in the cards given the multiple camps that need to sign off on it (Love, Kris, Grohl)?

Oof. Happened to me with the Cake box set from RSD. Had it in my hand and some guy behind me was really excited for it and I had gotten the only one. I told him he could have it since I was trying to save some money and had picked up a bunch of other things.

That shits not supposed to sound clean. -Eric Peterson, drummer of Electric Hellfire Club when I told him they'd remixed Bleach.

The ORG or an OG are supposedly the two best, even better than the MoFi. I think the MoFi is so expensive now just because it’s a popular title and so few were made.

this uses the same plates as the ORG supposedly:

pressed at Pallas, lacquer by BG.

I have the recent Target exclusive, it's BG and pressed at Pallas. Sounds great and I got it at the last 2 for 1 for less than 20 bucks

I have this one and don’t have any complaints. I was gonna pick up the 4xLP 20th anniversary edition however, even though it’s pressed at Pallas, it’s supposed to be an inferior cut to that of this single disc BG copy. I have the Deluxe Bleach, In Utero, Incesticide, and Unplugged and hope they give another deluxe reissue of Nevermind maybe this year for the 30th anniversary, fingers crossed.

This is the correct answer. Owned both. This is my player.

The ORG Pallas BG unplugged is the one to get. If it has a Pallas sticker in it, it used those plates. All analog I think, not digitally remastered like the 2019 2-LP reissue.
This is correct but also, neither is easy to come by for under $100, The 2xLP Black wax is still a very good pressing and can be had for less than $30.
