Better than the clear IMO. Im personally not a fan of any clear vinyl, it always makes the record seem cheap or low quality to me.

If anyone was curious about Horace Tapscott following Mark de Clive-Lowe's multiple references to him during the AMA, I can't recommend this set from 1991 highly enough. Again, like the one Mark mentioned, this is CD or streaming only unfortunately but it is so, so good.

I know @tvham bougt one and said the album quality was on par with the current Tone Poets, if not better? However the live recording was not on a similar sonic level, well, because of the time period within which it was recorded.
Plan on grabbing one from my local either this week or next when I get paid again. All my recent impulse buys are hurting me financially, haha!
Feel the same way until I received the limited Live Monk issue last fall. It sounds incredible with little surface noise. Nice and thick too.
Otherwise, I agree. I hate clear most other times. Seems to come with lots of surface noise issues.
Mines got a little bit of surface noise on Side A as well and I’m hoping a clean will help. Side B is flawless though.

I hate when I see stories of artist struggling in their later years. 99% of the time it’s because they don’t own the masters to their albums and make pennies on the dollar from royalties.
Just bought some Ryu Fukui from Amazon.de, scenery was pretty cheap, Mellow Dream not quite so much, but hopefully it's the 180g version

If you like Marc Ribot you may want to listen to a Portuguese band called Dead Combo. It's a kind of blues Fado, mostly instrumental, and Marc Ribot recorded a few songs with them on Lisboa Mulata.

Greg Foat’s 9th album 'The Mage' joins the dots between the past and future of British jazz. Enlisting the talents of jazz/library/soundtrack legends Duncan Lamont, Art Themen, Ray Russell and Clark Tracey to collaborate with their modern contemporaries Greg Foat, Moses Boyd and Heliocentric's drummer Malcolm Catto to create something undeniably British but outward looking and global.
