It pains me that this is true. They are out of sorts in a big way, which is not great when they have already played 16 games against divisional teams that (for the most part) have pretty high octane offences.

I feel like Demko/Holtby might need to steal a couple games for them to start to figure it out, which is a lot to ask.

Yeah. They looked a lot better in last night's game (or at least the parts of it I watched). I think on Saturday, after maybe the first or second goal, the looks Holtby was throwing his defence were deafening.

The defensive system was pretty easy to play against. I don't understand how they didn't adjust vs the Habs after 5 games (those are the only Vancouver games I saw to be fair). The goaltending would have to be stellar to compensate... the loss of Markstrom probably hurts the most here because I feel he could have stolen a few (he did steal one for Calgary vs the Habs).

The loss of Markstrom, Toffoli, and Tanev have hurt the Canucks imo.
