Is it just me/my system, but is there a ton of sibilance on “Strange Meadow Lark” on Time Out?

Also on a couple tracks of Tea For the Tillerman (I have the 33).

I’ve been wanting to ask if this is an indication of something wrong with one of my components, if I have the volume too high, or if it’s just part of the pressing.
an anyone guide me?

I'll have to check on the Time Out pressing, it's been a while since I spun it. I only have the 33, is that the same version you have? It wouldn't surprise me though, there's definitely some sibilance on some of the 45 pressings. Couple tracks on the Dire Straits self titled definitely have some sibilance, it's due to the original master from what I understand.

The only component-specific factor I've ever found relevant to sibilance is tracking force. That's usually the first thing I check if I'm annoyed by sibilance. And then I try the record on a second turntable. :D More often than not, consistency of sibilance across turntables leads me to conclude it's the recording. Probably the second-most annoying feature of vinyl for me, with off-center spindle holes taking the lead spot.

Very helpful! I check my tracking force somewhat often (monthly) and am sure it’s on the mark.
I have the 45 of Time Out

Does AS charge up front for back ordered items?
No.

Per their order policy:

"We try to keep a current supply of everything that is listed in the catalog. At times, some items may be temporarily out of stock. By checking the "Backorder" box on the order form, you may put the items on backorder. We will ship in-stock items and place the out-of-stock items on backorder. Acoustic Sounds will not charge shipping & handling for backordered items, but all backorders will be sent the best way. Nothing is charged until it actually ships.
If you request to put an item on back order that we know will not be available within 30 days, it will be kept on backorder by us and shipped as soon as it arrives. You do not need to reorder that item again."

Note that you cannot use Paypal for backorders or preorders.

Welp, I kinda hate to say this. But I don't have any sibilance on my copy. Now, this could be because i have the 33, or it could be for some other reason. But at least on my copy, it sounds great...

I definitely appreciate the feedback!
I bought mine from VMP before I understood they were coming from AP/AS. I wonder if that makes any difference.
I wasn’t sure if any part of my gear was to blame.

Well in my experience APs from VMP are no different than from anywhere else. It's certainly possible the 45 mastering is different than the 33 but they are both BG. I actually intend on getting the 45 at some point since this is one of my favorite Jazz albums so when I do I'll report back.
