Oh my the reissue of A Love Supreme is fantastic. Best I’ve heard the album sound. It’s bugging me that the album art is cropped though. More saturated than it should be too in addition to the gaudy junk in the bottom left corner on the back that probably has to be there.

I started collecting Jazz Vinyl that came with a magazine in the UK about 5 years ago (but stopped after my local news agent and the one next to my work didn't get any issues after number 9 or 10). If you can find a DAgostini issue list then working down that is a nice easy intro. Worked for me anyway.

The sale is buy two get one free. But you do not have to buy and keep 3 items to get the sale price. Buy three items (the thing you want and then two other records at a very similar price). This gives you 33% off each item. Then immediately cancel the other two items and you still get 33% off! This knocks the price from 135 to $90 and if you have the target red card you get another 5% off that!

Yeah I might have picked up a couple of the Mosaic boxes....
Luckily I have sold a few records over the past few weeks so I only had to pay £10 from my bank account (paypal took a hit though haha)

I went with the Don Cherry box (which was actually listed way under any I have seen elsewhere) and the Freddie Redd Mosaic boxes. There was so many I would love but a lot of them are crazy prices (the Miles Davis' are eye-watering!)

A bit of a hot take maybe...but I'm not the biggest fan of some of the Mosaic box sets (the ones marked "the complete"). The quality is great. The artists are great. The music is great...but at the same time, I almost never listen to the ones I have. I've never been one to truly appreciate hearing a few slightly different takes of the same song, especially on vinyl.Me too - so many Mosaic Records boxsets. I've been picking up quite a few Mosaic's this year and I personally like the fact that you can fully immerse yourself in a musician's complete catalogue or run from a specific era. With this being said though I do find that they are records that I like to be able to listen to from start to finish, looking through the booklet and reading bits, so they do take up a chunk of time. Working from home has been great for this, as long as I have no meetings I often listen to a full box set from start to finish.
Because the pressings are fantastic as well, you can often 'save' money by picking up the box set over all of the individual LP's seperately (if that's something you were hoping to do anyway).

Yea--I like some of them a lot and as I said the quality is good and the package is nice. But listening to the Bud Powell one every once in awhile, I am just not a fan of hearing the same track twice within the span of a few minutes. If they were, say, all of Bud Powell's released studio albums from a certain era. I've also never really been fans of huge box sets of one album that have slightly different alternate mixes of the same songs that were on said album. Just not my cup of tea
. And with how expensive the Mosaic boxes often are here and how hard I spent searching for them, I never really reach for them anymore when I want to listen to a jazz record!

Yea--that's why I originally said I don't like SOME of the Mosaic boxes...The Bud Powell I have is called "The Complete Blue Note Bud Powell". The other ones that are just album collections are nice. But there are tons of them that just have every take of every track on a certain album. I think there's a Miles Bitches Brew and In A Silent Way box that fetch a pretty penny.
