Rank The Albums!

Well I don’t I think it’s the second worst but then I have a pretty intense hatred for side A and B of King of Limbs and also haven’t got over the anticlimax of it even 9 years on. Side C & D was ok I suppose.
I love TKOL. 🙂

I will say, in 2011, I think I was busy poking around in other parts of the music world far removed from Radiohead, and so I wasn't really keeping up with them. I completely missed the hype and release of the album and probably didn't actually get around to listening to the thing until many months, maybe even a year or two after it had been out. And so maybe that's affected my viewpoint on it: it was the "lost" Radiohead album for me that seemed to pop in out of nowhere. Hell, I was more involved in the release of Amok than I was TKOL, so to me when I finally heard the album, it didn't have a ton of pressure on it, and I took it more for what it was. I didn't like "Morning Mr. Magpie" and was a bit thrown off by the extensive use of loops at first, but thought it was a fine album. My opinion of it only grows more and more and if you catch me on the right day, I might even say the moments in which it really hits ranks along with the best of the RH discography. And hot take, to me "Bloom" is one of their best album openers. I can see why it has the response that it does, but there's a quality to it that I think puts it in higher regard for me than it does others.

I ranked Leisure last but I quite like it. It is a band who haven’t quite figured themselves out yet and those baggy influences remain. I don’t think there is a mediocre Blur album. It does remind me a bit of Pablo Honey just swapping grunge for baggy. I think I may be the only person on this board who doesn’t think PH is the worst Radiohead album.

RSR (it’s currently top 5 for me)

I am a fairly new fan, had 16 lovers and liberty belle for a while but just read Robert Forster’s book (which was one of the best rock memoirs I’ve ever read) and have been exploring the whole catalog. I’m really surprised to see before Hollywood at the bottom of any list of theirs!
