Pre-Order Thread

I mean sure but the album is recorded lo-fi so differences would be minor, I'd imagine
I get that but my preference is to hear the recording as close as what the band/artist intended when recording the music to tape (or 4 Track or DAT). I am sure this will sound fine but I am in the process of rebuying the 180HD Pavement LPs and would rather buy the 180HD copy than buying the colored version only to then rebuy the 180HD later on. A lot of Matador albums released or reissued around 2008 were pressed at RTI, IMO these are the best versions of a lot of these LPs currently available but they are becoming harder to come by.

I preordered the shit out of that Alien Lanes. Need GBV in my collection and this is my favorite of theirs. Just an incredible record.

I love that series Matador is doing. Obviously in for Wowee Zowee and Electr-O-Pura as well.

Ruston Kelly

Dirt Emo vol. 1 (Pink Vinyl)
Opaque Baby Pink Vinyl
Indie Exclusive/Ltd. 1, 500

Originally scheduled for RSD 2020, this will now be an indie exclusive. Order away!
This Record Store Day exclusive LP of Ruston Kelly's Dirt Emo vol. 1 is pressed on opaque baby pink-colored vinyl and features a numbered poster inside. To quote Ruston: "I don't play country, this stuff is dirt emo it's like crying in a barn or anguishing in your room with a banjo." The project includes acclaimed renditions of Taylor Swift's "All Too Well" and the Carter Family's "Weeping Willow," showing the full spectrum of material, solidifying Ruston as the Father of Dirt Emo.

I did not even know that that was part of a series they’re doing. I’m probably going to have to get those two as well. I own only 3 YLT albums and no Pavement LPs

Psyched about the Matador 25th Anniversary series! But, as far as Yo La Tengo goes, what REALLY needs a pressing is their record The Sounds of the Sounds of Science. It's never been pressed and that album is absolutely gorgeous.

EDIT: No wonder, just checked Discogs, Matador didn't put it out, it was a place called Egon Records. Well, here's to hoping someone presses it.

YES... love that album. Whenever VMP does one of their "what would you like us to press" questions on Twitter or FB, I always suggest this.

Didn't know where else to post this, but uhhhh, ouch. "Nielsen history" pretty much means "since 1991".
Wow, that's not good. I actually bought six albums this past week. Main Street Music in Philly has moved to all online orders orders, but they move fast. I ordered on Sunday, got a shipping notice immediately, and received the records Tuesday. Now, I live in the same state, but they move fast. They are desperate to save their store. One owner, handful of employees. Nicest people in the world. You know a store is great when a customer (me), is willing to drive hours across the state to get to you.

I've purchased a lot this week too from shops in similar situations to Main Street Music (lots of shops are selling on instagram) but they were all used records which wouldn't count toward Nielsen. It makes sense since stores are shut. The entire US movie theater box office made only $5,000 last week.

I'm going through my list of records I've been meaning to get, but haven't yet, as well as some new ones I like...Son Little, Brainstory, Jade Bird...

I forgot my preorder for the new Thundercat was set for pickup at Rough Trade instead of shipping so sadly can’t get that any time soon it seems
But I have plenty of other stuff coming in now.
