Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

To me, this is a deal breaker as it makes VMP no longer affordable. If this happens, I'm out

Same. Though Canada Post often doesn't charge even when the price is indicated (I never get dinged for my TMR Vaults for example and those have the value marked). I'm definitely out if I get an added charge because they mark the full price (plus they shouldn't mark the entire cost anyway, because some of that is the shipping we pay as part of the extra International price and not the product).

He hasn't been active on reddit in over a year, and he hasn't done a single mod action since giving me mod access three years ago. FWIW though, the mod team and I are currently in the process of talking with the Reddit admins about getting him removed. It should be fairly simple since A.) he hasn't been on Reddit in years, and B.) he's an employee of VMP, and it's technically against reddit rules to be a mod of a subreddit dedicated to a company you work for. And if he tries to log back on and censor anything, that'll just speed up the process of him getting removed, and any action he takes can be reversed (also you can't really delete a subreddit so that option is out)

My Fiona Apple has shipped. Fully declared price. Likely £10+ customs fees. If you have multiple deliveries could be £10+each time, would be less with a single charge. Check here internationalshttp://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking

Also, I have to say, this is all a good reminder for me that when it comes to criticizing people, companies etc., the most satisfying way of doing it is to be clear and specific and, most importantly, to focus on things that they can actually change (i.e. actions or behaviors). And 99.9999% of the time, the thing that made you upset is something that they can change or do differently (unless you're an actual blind hater).

Throwing in comments that aren't really related to the actual problem that you have or aren't directly related to what they can change just muddies the water, makes it easier for them to miss (or flat out ignore) what you're saying, and makes it easier for them (and others) to think you're just angry for no real reason.

If you limit your criticism to specific, changeable behavior, without any hint of personal animus, you're more likely to:
1) get them to see what they did wrong
2) make it very difficult for them to ignore or misunderstand your critique
3) get them to change their behavior so that your issue is resolved favorably
4) get them to feel bad about what they did and maybe even acknowledge it

What's fun about this is that after you've delivered your critique, when you want to tell yourself that you did them a favor and they'd be stupid to not listen to what you said and take your advice - you're more likely to be right.

And being right is much more delicious than feeling like you probably/definitely crossed the line.

So, to recap: am I mad about something that they can change? what specifically do I want them to change?

I know, I know. You mentioned that previously, iirc. But with their social media implosion, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Yeah, I'm out if it's anything like that here.

(I have no tracking - don't even know if they're shipped - and only the AOTMs on the way... those come together, no?)

pretty sure people been doing that and it never changed anything

I received two individual shipments to Canada, one this week and one last week, and didn't have to pay any taxes/brokerage on either (same as usual). I'm hoping that they don't declare the full price, especially if they're sending multiple big shipments. Anyone know if we can simply refuse delivery and then get a refund from VMP? If they change shipping to Canada to something like UPS, the brokerage fees will be ridiculous for any sizeable packages.

Yeah most definitely, for sure. I just wanna make sure people realize that, even IF that happens, they can't do a single permanent thing. If Schaefer were to remove any negative posts or try and turn the subreddit private, that'd be even more reason for the reddit admins to remove him as a mod ASAP, so the rest of us could hit the reverse switch and turn things back to normal. And hoo boy, if you think reddit is a shitshow now, I shudder to think about what would happen if VMP actually tried (and failed) to censor them ;)

The clearer and more concise you are, the less they respond, because they can't really defend anything. It's hard to play the martyr in that scenario. My post questioning the logistics of the Mobb Deep raffle and ship back request didn't have a single VMP response. There were a few apologists saying nothing, but it was primarily a ton of people going in and adding to the points I was trying to make.

I didn't expect for things to unravel to the point where they are now. What I posted seems pretty tame compared to how viciously they are being torn apart and things have evolved over such a short time span.

Snap! Mine went out today too but it’s not showing in DHLs system yet for me to know about that!
