The amount of business 'insight' on this thread is overwhelming. Does anyone actually own a business here?
This, in my opinion, is one VMPs biggest downfalls, going back to the old forum I don't think they ever really looked at the wealth of knowledge from so many angles that was offered up CONSTANTLY. And yet they stuck to the "growing pains" war cry while things got progressively worse. I know there are forum members from the old site and N&G who have a flat out hate for VMP, but I also know that the majority have always wanted them to be the better company, but all the talk, discussion, suggestions and help that we were at times asked for, just fell on deaf ears.

They have a concept that is worth billions and are too arrogant to listen to the masses, their customers. The customer is NOT always right, but the customer is NOT stupid. They unfortunately seemed to have fallen for their own bullshit, that all the customer needs is a little shinny carrot dangling in front of them and the rest is money in the bank...............that shinny carrot is loosing it's luster more and more each day. Live by the FOMO, die by the FOMO.

Yes. Admittedly, VMP has annual revenues 30 times of mine, but I’m not having to take the crowdfunding equivalent of payday loans for basic business operating expenses either.

I mean, if things were that bad that they couldn't afford hosting the forum anymore, they likely wouldn't have survived this l

I think it's more likely that they didn't want to play host to a repository for negative feedback for their product/service.

FIFY - i think they knew that they'd be receiving more negative than positive feedback going forward with their plans for the business

Just a quick note here: "The customer is always right" is often misconstrued, mostly by Americans. It doesn't mean that a customer can get whatever they want, it was meant as an example that the customer's dollar will tell you whether or not your marketing is effective. Oh you think your campaign is top notch? Sales are down this quarter, it sucks- the customer is always right.

I feel an irrational need to talk about this whenever someone says it

Banks require a Business Plan. Are you familiar with Vinyl Me, Please?
It also helps if you have something that can be leveraged on the off chance you can’t make a payment. VMP’s business model doesn’t give them a lot of assets that they can put against the loan.
To be clear, a business plan is very much needed but it helps to have assets.

Also, in terms of business insight on here, no need to gatekeep business knowledge. It’s clear that people here come from a variety of backgrounds including various business education and experience whether as customers or as part of a company. In my case, I have my MBA and am a senior manager. A strong recommendation, listen to people instead of judging them @Ajax, you might surprise yourself with what you learn.

Just stumbling on this thread. Been a VMP member since 2014. It has mostly worked out for me, and until this year required very little active attention. Some of this shit is just beyond what I could have imagined. Going to be emailing to cancel out of all my preorders. Still on the month to month, which I think I will keep as it minimizes the downside risk. Can't imagine committing to 3 months with them right now.

Hah I know...should have said "too soon". They owed me about $600 in referral credit and I know yours was even more. Fuckers.

They probably owed me a good 4 or 5 grand. Whatevz. I guess I'm never gonna own a lifetime supply of blown glass wine decanters and hand tooled artisan hunting knife sheaths
