Nice, your toddler likes some crazy shitz! Good !!:D
@Selaws if you aren’t familiar with this series, they pop up quite cheap on occasion and they offer some of the best examples of the NY loft scene out there. Superb collection. And @MadLucas if your young uns are picking this you’re doing fine work my friend.

Last week, she picked Volume 1 because it was purple.
Tonight, when I asked her to pick a record, she said “the man with the makeup” (one of the faces has a performer in tribal paint). She reached for the blue one. Just like last week, danced and banged a toy piano along while dinner heated.
Incidentally, my wife really dug it too... which is interesting, because one night I had a rather “out there” Alice Coltrane LP on and she did not care for it.

These last few months, I've lived under the tyranny of my own system for new records - namely, that I have to spin them three times before I can shelf them. I've bought so much recently that I hadn't listened to an album already on my shelves since mid-June. Well, I've slowed my purchases down (and had to cut recent buys to just two spins) so today is finally the day to go back to what I already have. So I thought I'd start with one of my favourite artists and a beautiful vinyl package. The cover is so much better than the original and the sound is so good. It's nice to be back with old friends...

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#75: Paul Desmond - Desmond Blue

Back when it was the turn to spin the David Brubeck records in my collection, I mentioned how I grew disenchanted with this softer vein of jazz as I explored much more adventurous artists. However, I've come to love them equally, and Paul Desmond is a big reason for that. His tone is just OUT OF THIS WORLD, and his melodic instinct is unbeatable. In my book, he is one of the greatest saxophonists of all time, and this album is a great display of why he should be regarded as such.

You know, I might undertake this challenge once I get a few things squared away ;)
