Funny enough, my local said the distributor was behind again, and they didn't get any Sturgill vinyl for release day; they're hoping the records show up sometime this week. Across the industry, this has been the norm for the last year since distribution consolidated to one primary source.

Yeah, I stopped caring or being surprised if an album is delayed a week or two now. As you said, its the new norm. But this is where VMPs shipping monthly policy sucks since a slight delay can push an album back a whole month. I wish they went back to the mid-month deliveries for any pending exclusives as well.

Oof, big month for Classics swaps. Al Green, Archie Shepp, Alice Coltrane, and Art Blakey all sold out. Probably safe to assume Celia & Johnny are sticking around for quite a while lol

They had their chance. I'm honestly surprised it lasted this long.
Yeah, I know several people swapping for Nat Turner this month, but that repress probably means it'll be around a little while longer. I ALMOST swapped for Experience Unlimited, but decided to take a chance on Joel Ross. EU will probably be my next swaption.

I had swapped for Mavis, but figure I can wait on that. Swapped my swap for EU. Don't want to miss out on it.
I decided I didn't want to wait for a cool color variant of Sturgil so I grabbed a copy new on eBay. It was about 20 dollars and 25 percent off $65 .It came today and surprisingly it's a really nice dark red and black splatter.

Don’t know about The Roots, but highly recommend Living Legends. Underrated RHH AOTM, doesn’t get nearly enough love.

It was me! Thanks for that...Looks the same as mine, except for the numbers at the end. Mine doesn't have them. Don't know what that means though... LOL. Probably the same plates though.

Yeah I would imagine no special remaster and probably same plates. It was a period when VMP still hadn't completely taken off yet and they probably just did exclusives with what they could get their hands on, rather than having first say on them.
Like I said, I think my copy sounds great!

Good to hear. Mine sounds good but is quite dusty/crackly throughout. I'd love a quieter copy.

Those numbers look like RTI indicators although there would usually be a number in parentheses afterward.

If it was repressed at RTI, it would explain why the VMP copy seemingly sounds cleaner. It's promising.
