Boat Songs is dope it was on my year end list in 2022.
 
2023 was certainly not the kindest of years in recent memory, but thankfully, a lot of people I like decided to release some really great music, so that definitely helped to soften the blow a bit. This was actually such a fruitful year that I had to make a few painful cuts from my final list, which hasn't happened since... geez, probably 2020?

Decided to both be lazy and make it harder on myself by recycling last year's point distribution and limiting myself to a concise top 8. Because consistency matters, damn it! Of course, as with every year, I have no doubt that I'll be discovering new records from this year for decades to come, but really, all these lists can be are snapshots of the current moment in time, and these are my favorite albums of the year right here, right now.
