When is the deadline? Was focused on top 50 all-time list then on finishing Red Dead Redemption 2.

If I had to guess, I'd say ~5 days from now. Deadline on N&G top500 all-time list is still up in the air.

Ugh. Trying to keep my list short, but I survived this year with new albums....

I'm thinking about whittling down from 15 selections to 10.

So-- I'm still absorbing other people's lists and probably will be all week. But for the sake of letting other people sift through my stuff and because it feels weird to score anything I just discovered, here are the albums that impacted the most in 2020 + a couple thoughts:

A) I can't remember a year with so few hip-hop albums near the top of my list. There were a solid # that I dug, but very few that I loved
B) Around August I got a puppy cockapoo and stopped listening to music as much for a bit. And when I popped back into the community, immediately discovered the "community list". Thus, most of these are from the 1st half of the year
C) Moses Sumney's Grae was REALLY hard to rank. I LOVE Part 1, but Part 2 has some songs that never clicked for me. The fact that they were released separately but then together makes things even odder
D) I did less digging this year and more of checking AlbumOfTheYear.Org every Friday which means my list is more in line with the critics than usual. So thanks for all of your lists.

I presume everyone is posting larger lists to the 2020 thread? Cause if so, I'll post mine (45ish albums) over there and update as I add the stuff I find over the next couple of weeks... and I reserve the right to edit this until @Woob_woob says I can't ;)

Tier 1 (Masterpiece):
1) Fiona Apple: Get the Bolt Cutters [singer / songwriter] 15
2) Dua Lipa: Future Nostalgia [pop] 10
3) Deftones: Ohmm [alt metal] 10
4) Run the Jewels: IV [hip-hop] 10
5) Grimes- Miss Anthroposcene [indie electronica / indie pop] 7
6) HAIM: Women in Music Pt. III [indie rock] 7
7) SAULT: Untitled (Rise) [experimental R&B, Jazz] 7

Tier 2 (Excellent):
8) Phoebe Bridgers: Punisher [folk] 5
9) Porridge Radio- Every Bad [post-punk] 5
10) PVRIS: Use Me [pop rock] 5
11) Caribou- Suddenly [electronic] 5
12) Marilyn Manson: We Are Chaos [rock]- no points cause I know nobody else here will list it... but damn is it good
13) Kelly Lee Owens: Inner Chorus [techno, pop] 3
14) Nicolas Jaar- Cenizas [downtempo, ambient] 3
15) Yves Tumor: Heaven to a Tortured Mind [psychedelic rock] 2
16) Moses Sumney- grae [r&b, art pop] 2
17) Perfume Genius: Set My Heart On Fire Immediately: [art pop / indie rock] 2

Fantastic AOTY list 👏👌
Psst it's Inner Song by Kelly Lee Owens not Inner Chorus 😉

Sifting through your all's lists... wait so the new Gorillaz is actually good? Demon Days is at #9 on the list I just turned in for the community top 500, but I haven't liked their past couple releases.

Also, my list is already shifting thanks to you guys. Sevadliza's Shabrang has been spinning all night after I spent all afternoon listening to how i'm feeling now and the evening listening to Open Mike Eagle. On tomorrow's docket will be the new Aesop Rock / Avalanches (both which I had forgotten had dropped) and the Jeff Rosenthal (who I've never heard).

Song Machine is good! Easily their best album since Plastic Beach. The Now Now really grew on me after a while but it felt like a minor Damon solo album and not a proper Gorillaz record.

Love your top 3!!! ♥️♥️♥️

I knew you really liked but am shocked Yves Tumor is your #1 pick! I thought songs like Kerosene would’ve been too sexy for you to handle!!! 🙈

Nevertheless, happy we both awarded Gorillaz and Yves Tumor with a lot of points! 🥰🥰🥰
