In September, year two of Vinyl Me, D will come to a close. I can't believe this thing has been percolating for 24 months.

I've had a blast giving away 108 records and I hope all the recipients have enjoyed it half as much as I have.

It's too late to stop now - I'm gonna go for the triple dog dare. Or the Three-Headed Dog if you're a Roky Erickson fan.

I think y'all enjoyed the 3 new winners every month / win once in a year format so that will remain in place - spreads more love and joy that way.

In ‘76 I worked part-time in a little local record shop in Frisco, CO. Spent most of the time when there weren’t any customers in the back room getting high but, twice a week I got to drive to Denver to pick up a load of stock at a large record distributor’s warehouse. There was always a bin of free promos and samplers to help yourself to. This is one of them.

Social media suggests it's nine years to the day, I woke up to a Discogs notification telling me I'd bought this while absolutely shitfaced the night before;

Not only had I bought a Genesis album, I'd seemingly been driven by some sort of beer induced frenzy to buy the best condition copy for sale in the UK at that point. This cost me... well, it cost more than sober me would ever pay for it, let's leave it at that.

Seemed only fair to give it a spin;
