Lee Morgan / Thad Jones - Minor Strain (Roulette, 1990 First Pressing)
Picked this one out to post on Instagram in a bit. Its a funny one as its essentially a money-grabbing exercise from Roulette. The Lee Morgan side has (so far) been released as this joint compilation with Thad Jones, a 1963 LP with John Coltrane (The Best Of Birdland: Volume 1) and a 2017 10" release (The Roulette Sides). Rather embarrassingly I have picked up all of them so far. Still, killer session for sure with a fantastic line-up.
if there’s one thing we know david gilmour and roger waters might actually agree on these days it is that they *must* release a live album of every tour they do as the world just clearly cannot bear living without new versions of the same 10-15 songs that appear on their other live records.
Ata Kak - Obaa Sima (Awsome Tapes From Africa, 2015 First Signed Pressing)
I saw Ata Kak live a few years ago in London and it was a crazy good night. We had him and his band sign the album afterwards as well and had a good chat with him.
