Popcaan - Where We Come From (Mixpak, 2015 First Pressing)

I picked this up at the Red Bull Culture Clash, an event at London's 02 Arena which saw 4 crews competing with the crowds reaction declaring the winners. The Reggae titans Mixpak won the event and Popcaan threw his hat into the crowd and I caught it. Great night!

The John Coltrane Quartet - Africa / Brass

Oh, this record sounds sublime. I haven't quite got into all of Coltrane's discography like I have Miles Davis' but this one is just how I like my jazz. First mono pressing but slightly cracklier than I'd hoped.

I completely missed this when it came out last year which is a shame as would probably have made my top 20; Circa Waves- What’s it like over there? Pretty much worth the price of admission for Times Won’t Change Me alone.

I liked this when it came out in 2017 but I didn't love it and it was overshadowed by Sunday Night Blues Club, which is monumentally good. Had the chance to add this new copy with 'cover damage' (which I can't find) to the Circa Waves order for £10 so I did. Glad I did too- it's a grower of an album and it's a sensational pressing too.
