What's Spinning

The Joe Harriott Quintet - Swings High (Melodisc, 1970 First Pressing)

Another killer from Harriott. This one is actually a tricky album to get. I paid a fraction of its value after the seller listed it as poor, after emailing for more info it actually turned out to be in fantastic shape, I just don't think the seller had the chance to play it.

I keep putting off buying this, so tempted.
Yeah, It’s a good one pressed and remastered beautifully. If you like this check out the album I played just prior by the group Tengger, they are a Korean family/group that paints with the same aural ambient pallet as Yoshimura, it was one of my fav’s from last year. Check it out if you are so inclined.

Dizzy Reece & Tubby Hayes - Changing the Jazz at Buckingham Palace (Savoy, 1957 First Mono Pressing)

Fun fact about Tubby and Dizzy. After hearing that these 2 were performing in the USA for Alfred Lion at Blue Note, Art Blakey turned up the recording session. He was so impressed that he said he would have invited them to join the Jazz Messengers had they been able to stay in the US.
