Vinyl Storage Recommendation

I wish I had gotten another of those Ikea Swedish house mafia record player stands…sadly looks like they are all discontinued and can’t find them anywhere! Trying to find a new stand for my office to get my amp further from my phono and TT but can’t quite find anything that fits my space. Gotta be around 40” wide at most

Maybe just a standard tiered hifi rack and put the amp on the bottom shelf with the other components in between it and the phono?

You could always use a kalax or similar next to it to for storage to fill out the rest of the space.

I hate the look of HiFi racks but will have a look again!

Generally agree but there are some nice ones out there. Just takes some hunting and maybe looking for smaller companies or carpenters online because the hifi or isolation company ones can be really dire!

I really like my one but it wasn’t cheap to begin with and bringing one in from Britain probably isn’t the most economical option for you!

I’ll ask my in-laws to carry one over next time 😂

@MikeH also make sure to check Etsy. Something similar to this nearer to you could be ideal?

yea might go down the etsy route...or figure out how to build something myself. Just kinda kicking myself about the Ikea stuff. I actually quite liked a few of the things in that Swedish House Mafia collaboration and it seemed to come and go really quickly. They had their own versions of flip bins that were something like $10. wish i had gotten more! the turntable stand i got is perfect for what i needed but mine is downstairs now. was a good mix of record storage + shelving for gear.

Yeah I’m guessing they didn’t sell. What makes the kallax so perfect is that while it isn’t specifically for vinyl it is also ideal for it.

The fact that it was only in black would limited its appeal too. That would have been a major turn off for me!

yea--the cool thing about the turntable stand was you could pretty easily spray paint the metal frame whatever color you want. and you could even put your own wood shelving on it, which i may eventually do one day. so you could get your pretty white/plywood look ;)

Storage unit/ flip bin came today. Got to say I’m mega, mega impressed. Need to take the bubble wrap off the feet now I know it’s defo staying in that corner

Seriously stunning set up you have there, so jealous!

Completely obscure side note but I just bought volume 1 of Lady Joker from a charity shop at the weekend. Going to have to bring it to the top of my read pile now!

I didn't realise there was a vol 2 when I bought it. Blasted through it then had to wait almost a year (and another 800 pages) to find out what happens at the end.

But I reckon I'm done now with the big components. I like how it looks and sounds. The guys at Lagom were great too. got a message when they started the build and they phoned me to make sure the delivery times worked. Its a proper solid unit too.

Really slick. Love the way the second row floats above fhe first.

Had a quick look at their website, I could spend a lot of money there, they sell some really nice stuff!

And they use Lintons and JBLs for their sample pics.

I’ve had to work pretty hard to convince myself that I really do love my little Teak media unit and don’t need one that matches the shelves.

Yeah the big unit they describe as the dj one with the vinyl storage and amp space is one I could definitely see myself owning! Those big black steel legs and teak/walnut would definitely play nicely with the Lintons.

It’s a good job I don’t have the space 😂

Might have to do a temporary evac of the listening room from some lingering water issues into the floor.

Can anybody confirm that the Uhaul "small" cardboard boxes fit vinyl?
