It's like Des'Ree for white dudes.
Sorry to derail the ska talk, but it looks like the PJ Harvey website announced the Rid of Me reissues moments ago. IMO that pretty much confirms that Rid of Me will be one of the two 90s Essentials.
That’s the route that happened with Queens of the Stone Age, though.I'm not sure about that. If they're reissuing it outside of VMP, why would a VMP version be Essentials worthy? More likely that it's a color variant that VMP overcharges for.
Except VMP announced QOTSA first and used some wiggle language to sort of hide the fact that the regular reissues were coming soon.That’s the route that happened with Queens of the Stone Age, though.
You're right, and I wouldn't put it past them.That’s the route that happened with Queens of the Stone Age, though.
There is a chance it could also be a store exclusive if they do itSorry to derail the ska talk, but it looks like the PJ Harvey website announced the Rid of Me reissues moments ago. IMO that pretty much confirms that Rid of Me will be one of the two 90s Essentials.
5 pm EST or whereaboutsDo we know what time the albums are announced today?
I had a friend in high school that was in a band. When I asked him what instrument he played, he replied "I'm Spider-Man". I was confused, until I saw one of their shows and in the middle of one of the songs he came on stage dressed as Spider-Man and danced around. I was still confused afterwards...I always liked that they hired one of their buddies to dance around the stage like a ska hype man during their sets.
4 hours until we are disappointed
my favorite non-punk 3rd wave is Hepcat. incredible band.
Asian Man Records is the bomb.Did anyone mention The Toasters, Skankin’ Pickle or The Scofflaws?
Mike Park is still running Asian Man Records out of his parents garage!
But does Operation Ivy count as Ska Punk? because they were THE SHIT as opposed to shite.To summarise
Ska=good
Ska-Punk = shite
