The only thing I really know from Elastica is "Connection" from 90's radio. I'm not sure what I thought the rest of their songs sounded like but I'm getting some major Blur vibes from the first couple of tracks.

Actually, I think it's just because I was listening to the 90's Alternative Essentials playlist the other day and I'm pretty sure "Connection" is on there. I just know I had seen the album cover more recently than not.

Which this was released right in the middle of. The snarky music press of the time used to write shitty stuff about him having written it all and playing down Justine but I think the reality is he maybe played a couple of instruments on a couple of tracks under a pseudonym

Listened to this yesterday for the first time. It was at the start of a 5am shift so I really couldn’t focus but I enjoyed what I heard. Definitely want to dive in more on a night off

Elastica had me reading up on the band... Justine Frischmann has a fascinating history. Founding member of Suede, went on to Elastica, helped develop M.I.A. as an aritst and had some involvement in her first album. Dated Damon Albarn for years and then moved to the U.S. and married a meteorologist.

We were big fans. I still am. The aggressive attacking vocals of Phil combined Dimebags heavy deep grooves guitar shredding is a hard combo to beat. One my all time favorite metal bands.
