I've used my Kanto YU4 speakers for 3 years now along with the built-in preamp, and I hadn't had any problem until yesterday. For some reason the speakers start making a loud noise after I reach certain volume, something that happens with the RCA channel only, if I swtch over to the Bluetooth imput I don't have that issue. Here's a video of the issue. It was recorded with my TT turned off, so I think the problem is with the speakers themselves (or maybe with the built-in preamp).
