Basically the entire album Perfect From Now On hits the guitar solo spot for me.


I much, much prefer the live version although I love this song for how cold blooded the lyric is. "Let you go to sleep, feeling bad as me". Goddamn dude.

Although marrying the previous Neil Young and this Built to Spill album, their 20-minute version of Cortez the Killer is amazing for it's face-melting solo
 
The Legendary Pink Dots' "Joey The Canary" -- such a weird song, no real choruses, just verses about being stuck underground after an apocalypse and then a 2 minute face melting guitar solo at the end.



I believe this album (a best-of of their very fertile early-90s period) is pay what you want on their bandcamp, and I cannot recommend it enough.
