Garth Brooks Sells More Than 1M Vinyl Records On Pre-Order

Garth Brooks surpasses 1M in vinyl sales on pre-order with his box-set "Legacy Collection."

Just came across this article from last month. Pre Orders for Garth Brooks "Legacy Collection" box set have surpassed 1 Million.

That is a ridiculously crazy amount of vinyl rerecords to press. Have any artist pressed so many in the last 20 years?

This is an indicator that the market for vinyl is strong and growing.

I’d actually contribute it’s success to two reasons above the strength of the vinyl market.

1. Event marketing remains king in all media

2. Records will sell more if they are reasonably priced.

Let’s also not forget the general Garth factor. Still limited/not on streaming, and extremely limited vinyl. He just cashed in while the market was hot. He was very smart about it. Excellent businessman/business team honestly.

Plus the man is 137 times Platinum. 70M+ in the US alone, and those numbers are a little dated. Not discrediting the 1M box sets, he just got it all in one Big Bang instead of doing regular reissues throughout his career.
