Everything Video Games!

If the trailer for Clair Obscur hadn't been posted here honestly I probably would've glossed over it, maybe downloaded it when it was on PS plus, and it would've sat in my backlog.

I'm so glad it was, it's honestly a breath of fresh air. Gameplay, soundtrack, story are all top tier. It honestly brings me back to trying to get through final fantasy IV and VI after renting them on a weekend as a kid. This is the type of game that's going to stick with me for a long time.

Its probably so far in my top games of all time. I don't know how such a small studio managed to make a masterpiece in a time of billion dollar game budgets.

I agree, this game is going to stick with me. I'm still in Act 2 and feel like this is one of my favorite games of all time.

that's not too say it's perfect, but it does so many things on such a ridiculously high level that I can't help but to gush over it.

this meme I found describes me perfectly

Has anyone modded a PS Vita before? I grabbed one and jailbroke it but I wanna do more than just play the Vita/PSP libraries. Looking for alternate stuff, QOL plugins, etc

Me!

Edited post as I’ve just properly read your post! Removed a how to guide as I see you’ve jailbroken it already.

Not really done much other than Vita, PSP, PS1 and Retroarch. Need to use it more.

the two Axons were fun, but man some really tough optional bosses that you can fight in those areas, like the Chromatic Ramasseur, that really turn things up a few notches!

my next objective is to fight the Paintress, but I'm checking out some of the other areas for side content/bosses for a bit before going there

What's the deal with that boss in Sadness Vale? It never becomes my turn, I just dodge forever and never get a turn to attack? Is that a bug, or do I need to beat this boss with parry's? I haven't tried that yet as I rarely get them to be successful.

Chromatic Ramasseur?

Yes, I think that's the one. My memory this morning ad me thinking the bosses name started with a c and ended with Romanticizer. haha
so yes, you must parry. eventually you can break it and get a run of attacks and skills but 85%-90% of your attacks will be parries.

I don't think this is spoiling anything, but here's my stats from beating the fight2b97554d-a0d0-4f92-b4c2-ed61ab48bafd~2.png

but yeah, that's what I was saying yesterday... these optional bosses, especially anything with Chromatic in its name, are really challenging... not that the standard bosses are pushovers

thanks Nintendo, $80 games are the norm now

also, Microsoft couldn't sell Xboxes before how are they going to sell more by making them more expensive?

If Nintendo wasn't going to do it, GTA would definitely do it later on in the year. It's inevitable.

This was gonna happen anyway. Blame Trump and market realities. Nintendo deciding to plug their nose and jump first doesn't somehow put them at fault.

The problem with Nintendo though, and one of the main reasons why I'm very lukewarm on the Switch 2, is that Nintendo is not only firm on their pricing, but they're firm on their pricing long term, with very little chance of budging.

If you have an Xbox or PS console, you can be like "Okay, I don't want to pay full price for this game right now, I'm going to wait and see if it comes on sale or comes up on Gamepass/PS Plus". Not Nintendo though, the only question is whether you want to pay full price now, or full price years from now.

I wonder if this is the generation that's really going to make them question their strategy....probably not, since people will still buy.

Drives me insane that it's super rare that they discount any games.

I understand that the industry is responding to tariffs, maybe it could have been worse than $80 if someone else introduced the hike before Nintendo, just seems like that'll be the new standard as a response to tariffs

they're definitely not at fault... though I'll admit that I did word it that way (probably not 100% unintentionally to be honest, I'm still skeptical of some of these companies even in these uncertain economic times)

but more that it looks like everyone is following Nintendo's response.

but yes, this was going to happen whether or not Mario Kart was $80. I definitely should have worded that much better

I found out that the Jak And Daxter ports were locked to 20FPS, I was able to download something called VitaGrafix and changed the rate to be 30FPS. Performance is almost unchanged but it’s not frustrating to play anymore. I don’t suggest 60FPS though, game was lagging real hard after that.

Just wait until the price of GTAVI is set. I think the expectation is for it to push around $100 USD.
If that's the case then no matter what Nintendo set their pricing at, AAA developers will soon follow, and I'm guessing Nintendo will eventually either have to match, or use it as a selling point.

I've been hearing that rumor for a while now, hopefully that is treated as a one off. I think $100 base games across the board would certainly cause a lot of people to rethink their gaming habits
